If you have an upcoming appointment at Jim Peirson Dental Healthcare

As you will be aware, we have had to make some changes to our procedures to help keep both our patients and our staff safe.

Below is an outline of what you can expect when you come to see us.

Prior to your appointment, one of our receptionists will call you for a final triage, to check your medical history and run you through the following procedures:

  • Who you will be seeing and the length of your appointment.
  • Please make sure to use the bathroom before you leave home as our toilets will be for emergencies only.
  • Please avoid bringing bags, etc. You should only bring medical essentials such as inhalers or GTN spray.
  • Please wear a mask or other face covering.
  • Please come alone, we will not allow anyone else into the practice unless strictly necessary. If you require assistance, please inform the nurse when she calls.
  • Please try to arrive at your appointment time as we are currently unable to allow patients into the waiting room.
  • If you are walking or coming by bus please stand in the cycle rack zone to the right of the front door to avoid contact with other patients exiting the building. We will call you to the front door when we are ready and safe to see you.
  • If you are coming by car please call the practice when you arrive and wait in your car until we invite you to come to the front door.

The front door will remain locked until we call you into the building. At the front door we will take your temperature. Providing you do not have a temperature; we will ask you to use our hand gel then sign any necessary forms.

You will then be taken straight into the surgery. After your treatment you will be escorted back out of the practice.

If you are exempt from dental charges, please inform the receptionist when she calls to triage you prior to your appointment.
If you are in receipt of benefits or have any queries regarding your exemption, you can easily check your exemption status on the following link https://services.nhsbsa.nhs.uk/check-my-nhs-exemption/start

If you pay for your dental treatment, you will be informed of the charges when confirming your appointment. If there are changes to these charges the nurse will inform you at your appointment. We are requesting patients pay over the phone before their appointments to reduce the amount of time spent within the practice.

If you have any questions, we are here to help. We are looking forward to seeing you soon
